NARAL Pro-Choice America Introduces New Chapter: NARAL Pro-Choice California
I am proud to support NARAL Pro-Choice America and incredibly pleased to see this
latest addition of NARAL Pro-Choice California.
History has shown when it comes to social trends, as goes California goes the nation.
That is why now, more than ever, we need NARAL’s presence here in California. The
issue of choice is one that belongs in the hands of women, their doctors and their
families, and not in the hands of politicians. Thirty years after the decision reached in
Roe v. Wade, women can no longer take for granted their fundamental right of choice.
You can count on me to be one of the legislators in Sacramento who will fight for
better access to contraception, health care and sex education. These actions will
certainly help reduce the need for abortions, but they will not eliminate every need.
Thus I pledge to stand against anti-choice legislation and like today, stand with
NARAL Pro-Choice California.
It is critical that we come together in our fight to protect a woman’s right to choose in
California. So, I welcome you to San Francisco and I welcome your efforts in
Sacramento. Thank you NARAL Pro-Choice America for all your efforts and thank
you for bringing California to the forefront of this national movement.
