The “Big Tent” Party Puts the Rain Flap Down
NARAL Pro-Choice California is refused exhibition space at
CA GOP Convention

Without explanation, NARAL Pro-Choice California’s application to have an exhibit booth at this weekend’s CA GOP Convention was denied. “I am baffled that the supposed ‘Big Tent’ party would refuse to allow us to participate in their Convention,” said NARAL Pro-Choice California State Director Amy Everitt. “Our organizational values of freedom, personal responsibility and limited government are similar to those traditionally heralded by the GOP.”

As a non-partisan, grassroots organization dedicated to promoting a culture of freedom, privacy and personal responsibility, NARAL Pro-Choice California represents the values of a majority of California Republicans. The Public Policy Institute of California recently announced that 60% of California Republicans support the decision in Roe v. Wade and would uphold a woman’s right to choose.

“Choice is not a partisan issue, it is a privacy issue. I am dismayed that the California Republican Party refused our participation and has refused to provide an explanation,” said Everitt.
